-
(For all new clients, or current clients with a new area of concern). If it has been more than four months since your last appointment, please schedule a new evaluation to reassess and develop a new treatment plan.
To prepare for initial consultation, I will ask you to complete a comprehensive questionnaire focusing on your wellness goals, health history, lifestyle habits, nutritional pattern, sleep hygiene, stress management, and support systems. During the initial meeting, we will explore the function and balance of all of the systems of your body, with the intention of understanding the root causes of your symptoms. I will assess several key markers of wellness, including analysis of your tongue and pulse, and a discussion of how your body is digesting food, absorbing nutrients, and eliminating wastes (i.e. bowel, bladder, and sweat patterns). If you are experiencing physical pain or injury, we will also utilize physical therapy diagnostics to assess the physiology and function of the movement system.
We will work together to develop a clear picture of your current state of health, your goals, and where there is opportunity to rebalance. Together we’ll develop a personalized plan of action. Recommendations will fall into four main categories:
Nutrition:
Using food and herbs appropriate to the season as medicine
Lifestyle:
Developing rhythm to your life supported by the intelligence of nature and creating daily self-care routines to help you remained centered
Energy and stress management:
Creating a personalized yoga (meditation, pranayama, mantra, mudra, and/or asana) practice appropriate for your constitution and energetic needs
Connecting to nature
Setting boundaries
Developing a morning routine to set you up for success each day
Developing a bedtime ritual to facilitate sound sleep.
Pain management (if applicable):
Pain neuroscience education
Physical therapy exercises
Yoga to support your nervous system
CranioSacral Therapy
Manual therapy, joint mobilization, myofascial release
Neuromuscular re-education
Self-massage and herbs for pain management
Ayurvedic tools to promote grounding
-
Together we will develop a personalized wellness plan incorporating nutrition, lifestyle, stress management, mindfulness, and movement to help you reach your goals.
-
Following the initial consultation, you will have time to implement the treatment plan we have co-created. Ayurveda is a wisdom tradition and is meant to be tested through direct observation, and refined over time. Follow-ups are recommended 1 - 6 weeks after initial consultation to assess the impact of the treatment plan. This is a time for us to discuss what went well, what challenges you faced, and to revise or progress your plan to continue to support you in meeting your goals.
*Follow-ups can be used at whatever frequency feels most supportive to you (once a week, once a month, once a season) but must be used within one year of purchase.

I have made an intentional decision not to bill insurance so that I can concentrate my time and energy towards supporting your health and healing, and provide an integrative treatment approach tailor made for each client. In this private pay model, I have the freedom to meet you where you are, and to incorporate prevention, early intervention, and holistic treatment that includes a variety of modalities and approaches, and is not isolated to one body part or tool. While working within a traditional medical model, I often felt limited in what I could offer based on what insurance would cover. Using a cash model enables me to address your concerns and goals without restrictions based on what an insurance company considers medically necessary.
Many clients find that having a personal investment in their health facilitates engagement. We can develop a treatment plan that is realistic and sustainable, and takes into consideration your goals, priorities, available time, and resources.
You may be able to use your HSA or FSA funds to pay for treatment. In some cases, you may also be able to submit your bill directly to your insurance company for reimbursement at the out-of-network rate.

Payment is due at the time of booking, unless prior arrangements or payment plans have been made. When we decide to work together, we enter into a partnership. I will reserve time to work with you, and appreciate your reciprocation. Please arrive on time to appointments, and reserve 90 minutes for initial evaluations and 60 minutes for follow-ups. Refunds are not available, but appointments can be rescheduled and funds applied to rescheduled appointments if changes are made at least 48 hours in advance. Monday appointments must be rescheduled by the preceding Thursday at 8 am to give time to offer that appointment time to another client. With the exception of emergencies, if you do not provide at least 48 hours of notice to reschedule an appointment, you will be charged for your session.

Not at all. Ayurveda is a wisdom tradition, not a diet, and there are no set rules because it is such an individualized medicine. Recommendations will take into account your constitution, your goals, your current state of (im)balance, your interests, your time, and the season, both of your life and of your environment. You play a key role in your wellness plan. We develop the plan together, and then you experiment. You try it out for a week, month, or season, and pay attention to how it affects you. We tweak the plan as needed to support your balance, with the understanding that what you need will ebb and flow throughout the year(s).
-
My hope is that you will develop intuition around what your body and mind need to feel the most nourished and balanced. We always have flux in our lives, and I aim to help you develop tools to adjust as needed.
In meditation practice, we are taught to establish a stable foundation. When we have enough support, physically and mentally, then we have the capacity to hold space for ourselves and to develop a mind that is vast like the sky. You’ve probably experienced in your practice that when life is good, you have more space available and are more centered, so you aren’t so easily rocked by the waves of your life. When you are in a period of challenge, you may need a little more structure and support. The same is true for your health. The goal of Ayurveda is to support balance so that you are healthy and thriving. When you are balanced, you can more easily absorb the waves of life, without being so affected by them. If you have a period when you notice signs of imbalance, then you might be more affected by the waves and need more structure and more support to help bring you back to center. The underlying thread is self-inquiry. When you learn to pay attention to what your body and mind are telling you, you’ll be able to make choices that help you to feel your best.

Evaluation and treatment move beyond an isolated body part, and beyond just the physical body. Your treatment plan will be comprehensive, and will include so much more than PT exercises. Because each person has a unique constitution, the Āyurvedic approach is individualized to each person’s specific needs. We will review your current psychological, emotional, and physical state through the understanding the doṣas and their corresponding qualities (gunas). We will also assess the state of all of the systems in your body, paying particular attention to prana (energy), agni (digestive fire), and the nervous system, and develop a personalized wellness plan that will include daily self-care practices so your day has rhythm, nutritional recommendations to use food as medicine so you feel nourished, and stress and energy management practices so that you feel supported and not depleted. If you also have an injury and/or pain, we will integrate Āyurveda, yoga, CranioSacral Therapy, pain neuroscience, and physical therapy for a holistic, mind, body, and spirit approach to physical therapy that supports optimum tissue healing and reduces pain.
Working in a private pay model also allows us to focus on your specific goals. Insurance companies deem physical therapy to be medically necessary only if you have functional limitations that prevent you from doing basic activities of daily living, such as getting dressed by yourself or getting in and out of bed. The parameters are surprisingly narrowly defined to one specific body part that is injured and do not consider the relationships or root causes, or support interventions such as CranioSacral Therapy, nutrition, herbs, or other Ayurvedic tools that can help you to recover. Choosing not to accept insurance allows me to meet you where you are, and to use all the tools I have in my growing toolbox so that your goals are met and you see results.
-
Absolutely! If you don’t have any pain, injury, or health challenges, we can focus on a daily wellness practice for prevention. Developing these skills now will go a long way to reducing risk and building a solid foundation to support you as you progress through the stages of your life.
I am a physical therapist, but I’m also an Ayurvedic Health Counselor. I work with people who have all kinds of health concerns, including digestive issues, hormone imbalance, skin challenges, anxiety, etc. When we work together, we address your individual health goals with a personalized plan.
